Original "The Cure" founding member to play with The Cured.
May 1,, 2008. It is extremely rare for a tribute band have one of the actual members of the artists they are covering to take notice. It is even rarer for an original member to sit-in and play with the tribute.
The Cured has been blessed with just such an event! Original "The Cure" founding member Lawrence "Lol" Tolhurst will be taking over some of the drum and keyboard duties with The Cured at the Save New Wave 80's Festival June 21st at The Gibson Amphitheatre (formely Universal).
Mr. Tolhurst started The Cure along with Robert Smith and Michael Dempsey and helped shape the iconic bands sound. Lol, co-wrote, played on and stars in the videos for such recognizable hits as The Love Cats, Killing an Arab, Boys Don't Cry, Let's Go to Bed, In Between Days, 10:15 and too many others to mention..
if you'd like to learn more abot Lol or would like to say hello to him, check out his Myspace:
